Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch has officially sold over 15.7 million copies, putting it as the best-selling fighting video game of all time. A title that was previously held by Street Fighter II’s 15.5 million copies sold. As reported by Digital Trends, Nintendo revealed during their mid-year financial report that Super Smash Bros Ultimate sold this impressive number.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate released on December 7, 2018 and easily sold over 11 million in its first three weeks. It’s success has been continued with DLC characters such as Banjo-Kazooie, Joker, and the Hero from Dragon Quest.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is not only the best-selling fighter game of all time but it’s now also the second best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still holds the best-selling spot with over 19.01 million copies sold.

Perhaps developers will find a way to make Super Smash Bros Ultimate playable on the Analogue Pocket? Imagine playing on a game-boy styled handheld.

Another highly anticipated game coming for the Nintendo Switch is Pokemon Sword & Shield. Did you hear about the online free roam?
